CREWSING ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON

I was pleased to find a few books by Judson Crews at Acequia Books in Albuquerque a couple weeks ago on my way home from the New Mexico Center for Poetry & Poetics, and it makes perfect sense that they were there. Crews was born in Waco, Texas in 1917 and ran his own Motive Press and Bookstore before moving to Taos, New Mexico in 1947. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon reading his work, then did a little googling to learn more about the poet, and found interesting recollections here, here, here, and here. Next step is to get over to the HRC down the street to some more involved research.
