A few weeks ago I wrote a short post about Black Sparrow Press where I claimed that while some of the books aren't as hot as others, overall I'm a grateful for many of the books published by John Martin, and here's one--Joanne Kyger's
Places to Go, designed and printed in December of 1970 by Noel Young with illustrations by Jack Boyce throughout. The book is primarily comprised of spectacular prose poems in "Places to Go" as well as "Imaginary Apparitions," "A NOVEL," "POEMS FROM ROME," and other poems. There's a terrific interview with Martin in Robert Dana's
Against the Grain, which I'll post tomorrow.
