Am I wrong in seeing a bit of Upton Sinclair's muckraking masterwork, The Jungle, in Ed Sanders's pornographic satire A Description of a Meeting of The Regal Society of Sooey Semen? Is that going too far? How about William S. Burroughs's Roosevelt After Inauguration also published by Fuck You Press. The expose of Mayor Richard Daley jerking off a pig in a secret location during the Chicago Convention conjures up such comparisions for me. The Chicago police, Carl Sandburg, and Pigasus (the Yippie's candidate for President) also come to mind. Maybe such connections are hogwash but they sure are fun.JB
